Fees
Signing up, posting requests, making offers and sending messages are free. The following fees apply only when a request is booked.

How payment works
- When a request is booked, the requester pays by card. Payment is made on the screen of our payment provider, Stripe, and your card number is never stored by Onegai USA.
- We hold the payment until the work is done. The helper can see that the job has been paid for as soon as it is booked, so they can work with confidence.
- When the work is done, the helper presses “Report job as done” and the requester presses “Mark as complete” (if the requester does not, the job is completed automatically 72 hours after the helper reports it as done).
- Once the job is complete, we send the helper the price minus the fee. Stripe transfers it automatically to the helper’s registered bank account (usually within a few business days).
Helpers register their bank account on Stripe’s screen, via “Set up payouts” on My page. Account numbers are never stored by Onegai USA.
On large pet-sitting sites, the combined fees for requesters and helpers can be around 30%. Onegai USA keeps the total to about 15% so that helpers take home more.
Cancellations and refunds
- Before booking: you can withdraw a request at any time for free. No payment is made.
- After booking, if the requester cancels: until the day before the start date, the price for the job is refunded in full. The service fee (5%) is not refunded (it covers card processing costs and similar). From the start date onward, please contact us.
- If the helper has to withdraw: the requester receives a full refund, including the service fee. The request goes back to being open, so you can choose another helper.
